Sexual education – engage and reflect
Challenge: Provide children and young people with some engaging digital material for sexual education.
Learning objectives: Provide children on different grade levels with appropriate and non-biased sexual education.
Context of use: Primary and secondary school.
Solution: We developed a sub-universe for each target group (0-3 grade, 4-6 grade and 7-10 grade) that included the appropriate content and approach. The activities focused on providing a non-biased, open space for exploring a difficult subject through interactive activities including some simple games. Some of the activities were translated into apps to increase the reach.
The activities include open-ended exercises that evolve around reflecting, sorting and discussing different issues. But also more close-looped learning games e.g. a small board game and a quiz. Together, each site makes up a good mix of activities that teachers can pick from.
Results: Over the last 5 years, the campaign has grown to one of the most successful digital educational materials. More than 150,000 students participated the last time. The apps we developed to accompany the campaign rose to the top of App Store during the latest campaign.
